What the New Changes Mean for Plan-Managed Participants

The National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) has released its 2025 pricing updates following the 2024-25 Annual Pricing Review (APR), introducing significant changes that affect how participants access and pay for supports. These updates are designed to improve value for money, promote sustainability, and ensure participants continue to receive high-quality care in a dynamic support environment. It is important for participants, carers, and providers to understand these changes as it can help you plan better and make the most of your NDIS funding.

One of the biggest updates is that the monthly plan management fee remains unchanged at $104.45. This means your plan manager can continue supporting you with tracking expenses, paying invoices, and providing budget updates without any extra cost.
However, from 1 July 2025, the one-off establishment fee of $232.35 will be removed. This fee was previously paid to plan managers when you first started plan management, but since most participants now use ongoing plan management services, the NDIA has decided it’s no longer necessary. Another major change is that remote and very remote loadings will no longer apply to plan management fees. This is because plan management services are now mostly delivered virtually and are equally accessible no matter where you live. The NDIA found that even participants in regional and remote areas are now well supported by national providers. These changes are designed to simplify pricing and ensure that more of your funding is spent on the supports and services you need most.

At Plan Guard Plan Managers, we believe that managing your NDIS funding should be simple, transparent, and stress-free. As registered NDIS plan management service providers, we work alongside you to ensure every dollar of your plan is used wisely, so you can focus on your goals and not paperwork.
