Confused about NDIS Plan Reassessment? Plan Guard is Here to Help You!

All the participants under the NDIS have their own NDIS plans. The NDIS plan is unique to the individual. It outlines their goals, ambitions and the funded supports and services that are going to help them achieve those goals. But the needs of a participant will evolve as their life changes and as they make progress with their goals. Also, after the commencement of the NDIS plan, some participants may realise that they need more support. In such circumstances, the participants can initiate a reassessment of their NDIS plan. Plan reassessments can also be initiated by the NDIA because every NDIS plan has a ‘reassessment date’ set by the agency.

There is no need to be stressed about your plan reassessment as it is an opportunity for you to find out which supports are working well for you and which ones are not helping you with your goals. You will be contacted by the NDIS three months before your plan reassessment to give you time to prepare for the meeting. If you have Support Coordination funded in your NDIS plan, then the support coordinators will provide a report to the NDIS regarding what worked well, what didn’t work and whether you need extra support to achieve your current goals etc. Participants can also request for plan reassessment if they are not happy with a particular decision made by the NDIS.
